Welcome to mcinroy.org, the personal website, journal, blog, whatever of Wessley McInroy (me). I’m a 20 year old student from Ayrshire, Scotland: the home of “Rabbie Burns” and Johnnie Walker Whisky. I’m currently studying Computer Science at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and one day I’m hoping to get a job working with computers.
My passions in life are mainly computing, my wonderful girlfriend, my best mates, alcohol, sports and music.
My current computer setup at home consists of a Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz 1GB RAM Acer laptop, an AMD 2GHz, 256MB RAM desktop and a 3.4GHz 1.25GB RAM, 256MB ATI X600 Pro desktop. I enjoy computer games and I can usually be found either playing Halo 2, Oblivion, Gears of War, Call Of Duty 3 on my Xbox 360 or at my PC playing Tomb Raider Anniversary, Theme Hospital, Morrowind, Age Of Empires II, Ancient SNES Games such as Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island or Mortal Kombat III.
I had a website previously, cheeseweasel.cjb.net (CheeseWeasel is my IRC nickname, a long story and probably best left for another day) unfortunately I managed to lose all my posts from my journal (About 2 years worth and hundreds of posts) so I thought I’d start another blog, this time with my own domain name, mcinroy.org.
McInroy, being my surname is an old Scottish surname and I’m very proud of my Scottish heritage:
On the western coast of Scotland and on the Hebrides islands, among the ancient Dalriadan clans, lay the roots of the McInroy famliy. Anciently, they were known as Clan Donnachaidh, coming from the Gaelic name Donnachadh Reamhar, or Duncan the Stout, one of the Celtic Earls of Atholl. The surname McInroy comes from the personal name of 15th century Clan chief Robert Riach.
This blog runs WordPress with 281 v0.2, designed by Paul Stamatiou, optimized by Neil Patel and messed around with by me. I used to have a custom blog engine totally developed and maintained by me, alas that’s also gone.
With the advent of the Internet I’ve got into music in a big way and I think everyone’s life should have it’s own soundtrack. I listen to music on my PC when I’m at home, on my Creative Zen Vison: M iPod Touch when out and about and in my head when I’m at work. I’m into all different kinds of music, my favorite bands are Lifehouse, New Found Glory, Better Than Ezra, Hawk Nelson, Hoobastank, Goo Goo Dolls and The Ernies to name a few. If you want to find out more about my music page you can visit my Last FM Page.
Thats it, pretty much everything about me, if you want to know anything at all, get in contact with me on the Contact Page
Wessley.
